HP HDX 18t Premium Series Review

HP HDX is meant for entertainment, and HDX 18t Premium series is the best in this field from HP.HP HDX 18t Premium is a huge laptop with a huge 18.4 inch screen. It is designed for entertainment, and its huge screen and specs make it ideal for gaming, video editing and graphics designing. The design is beautiful with sleek and smooth curves and beautiful Titanium “Liquid Metal” design. The looks are without doubt, AWESOME.

Design:

It looks good to everybody, and despite its extreme specs, the looks are soft and humble, not sharp and shouting power. The colour matching keyboard, huge screen, illuminated HP logo, and liquid metal looks just great, difficult to express but it is among the most beautiful and impressive designs in the market.

Specifications:

HP HDX 18t Premium is a huge notebook, so there is plenty of room inside it, and the specs reflect it. Processor range is from Intel Core2Duo P8400 (2.26GHz) and the Core2 Duo range ends at Q9600 (2.8GHz), and it includes two Intel Core2 Quad Processors: Q9000 (2.00 GHz) and Q9100 (2.26 GHz), and DDR2 and DDR3 RAM is available up to 4GB. Graphics Cards include 512 MB GeForce 9600M GT and 1GB GeForce 9600M GT. The size of the laptop allows for 2 Hard Disks, so up to 500GB Hard Disk is available in single disk range while 1TB (2 x 500GB) is also available. So the overall performance is great in Core2 Duo and Core2 Quad range, and it’s great for entertainment, and extreme graphics designing. GeForce 9600M GT is a mid to high mid range card which offers decent gaming performance and is capable of running all the latest games at decent resolution. So there is no lack of performance anywhere. Optical drives include Blu-Ray ROM and Blu-Ray burner. HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner is also available. Other things include 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader, 4 USB ports (4th shared with eSATA port), 1 Expansion Port 3 connector and IEEE 1394 Firmware. Built-in Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Home Theater are good.

Conclusion:

HP HDX 18t Premium is an expensive laptop and is also huge with 18.4 inch screen and weighs 8.82 lbs with standard 8-cell battery. So it’s not very portable and is huge, and is also expensive. So, it’s not ideal for carrying around a lot. If portability can be compromised and 18.4 inch screen is needed, it is a good option, otherwise HP HDX 16t or HP Pavilion DV5t can be a better choice. There is nothing lacking in the looks and if you will see it, you will be attracted and have desire to buy it.
